Adidust: At this point we’re not sure. We thought dust on the solar panels was the issue, so we waited out “dust clearing season” when we would expect wind to hopefully clean the panels a bit for us. No luck though, which is unfortunate—we’ve had dust clearing events in previous Mars years. But the issue now is that we’re also moving into autumn for the rover, so the temperatures will start dropping to a point where the rover will essentially freeze to death if it doesn’t have the power to run its survival heaters. So, at this point, regaining contact with her is highly unlikely.
